THE ARCHIVE - Dora Archive Centre

one and one hundred dice rolls a day

Dora Archive Centre, Trondheim

14.11.2020 - present

The installation with the collection of dice roll numbers - also called the archive - is currently located in a passageway between the office section and the magazines in Dora Archive Centre. A new multi-year collaboration with Dora Archive Centre that follows a similar collaboration in the period 2012-2019 ... see further down.

The archive is updated every month.

On the wall above the opened last month's binder one will find information about the project, and on the shelf below some catalogues and other documentation material on artworks that have been transformed by numerical material from the archive.

10.11.2012 - 30.09.2019

During this period, the installation was shown as an exhibition project at the expedition in connection with the archive center's reading room. A long-term collaboration with the Regional State Archives of Trondheim and Dora Archive Centre.

The archive was updated every week.

Together with the archive, a sub-project was also shown with artworks transformed from numerical material from the archive. These were replaced over time. The connection between base material, numerical combinations, process and artwork was thus made open and accessible, and provided insight into the different layers and dimensions of the art project.

The installation was dismantled in the fall of 2019 for display in two solo exhibitions in 2019-2020.
